With the advancements made in dentistry, the tooth extraction procedure is most often painless with a mild recovery period. While there are a variety of reasons that Dr. Eagan or Dr. Wills could recommend an extraction, the primary cause is that the tooth has been diagnosed as unsalvageable or as hurtful to the surrounding teeth.
Making your visit a positive experience is our goal. With that in mind, we will numb the area surrounding the tooth prior to extraction. This will dispel any discomfort and will last for a few hours following the procedure.
It is important that following an extraction, you follow the given instructions on caring for your mouth.
If you experience pain following an extraction, apply a cold cloth or ice pack to the affected area, or consult with the American Dental Professionals Team for additional suggestions. |
